Seeking Asylum in Burundi

Almost 20,000 Rwandan asylum seekers fled from May 2005 - October 2006, living in three transit camps just inside Burundi's border.

The refugees claim discrimination and a lack of political freedom at home. Rwanda says some are fugitives from justice, fleeing from community courts set up to deal with the 1994 genocide.
